Ipswich Town manager Mick McCarthy says the club have “no chance” of signing on-loan Leicester City forward Tom Lawrence on a permanent deal.
The 23 year-old Welshman is currently the Championship outfits top scorer with 11 goals.
I think Tom will have his heart set on the Premier League and I think he’ll get that,” McCarthy admitted.
“If Leicester are going to sell him, there’d be a lot of takers.”
The former Republic of Ireland manager also revealed there will be a few changes at Portman Road this summer.
“There’s a real opportunity to freshen it up because there are a lot of players out of contract and we’ve quite a few players on loan.
“Do they want to stay? Do we want them? Can we have them? Can we sign them? There’s all those things. We’ll be losing a few players.”
Who needs to be sold from Ipswich? Who should they bring in?
Does this reveal the financial strain McCarthy is under?
Will next season be a better campaign?
