Brighton and Hove Albion are promoted to the Championship after Huddersfield drew 1-1 with Derby.

Chris Houghton’s men survived a scare to beat Wigan 2-1 earlier in the day but were not mathematically up. Because of Huddersfield’s failure to win, the club are now officially going to play Premier League football next year.

This will be Brighton’s first appearance in the Premier League since its evolution and the first time back in in the top tier of English football for 34 years.

20 years ago to the day, the Seagulls survived relegation from the Football League after drawing with Hereford amid financial trouble.

One more win would secure the title for Brighton.

Debate Point

How will Brighton do in their first season in the Premier League?
