Birmingham and Manchester City women make it through to the FA Women’s Cup Final

Birmingham City Women will play Manchester City in the FA Cup final after they beat Chelsea 4-2 on penalties.

Manchester City overcame Liverpool after beating them 1-0 in their semi-final, as they hope to win 5 trophies in the space of just months.

Drew Spence scored with 2 minutes remaining to level the tie, cancelling out Meaghan Sargeant’s earlier strike for Chelsea.

With the score being unchanged throughout extra-time the semi-final went to penalties. England international Ellen White stepped up to score the decisive penalty to send Birmingham through to their first FA Cup final since they won the competition in 2012.

The final will be played on the 13th May – the first time both teams will have played at Wembley.
